SELLING YOUR DIAMONDS
IN 3 EASY STEPS
For diamonds over 0.25 carats in size, book an appointment with a certified gemologist.
Our GIA and CGA certified diamond buyers have years of experience evaluating diamonds. We consider all the factors that contribute to the value of your items including all characteristics of the diamond, craftsmanship, brand and market desirability.
Receive a free no-obligation quote based on the current value of your diamonds. If you decide to sell, get paid on the spot.
We believe in being upfront and transparent with our prices, so we built this free calculator to give you a great estimate of our buying price based on 7 main criteria. Through our extensive network of dealers and private clients, we are able to achieve the highest return for your diamond jewellery.
← Who graded the diamond. Different labs grade using the same terminology but with different standards.
← The cut shape of the diamond. RBC stands for Round Brilliant Cut and is the most common current round diamond.
← The cut grade of the diamond.
← The carat size of the diamond.
← Colours range from D (colourless) to M (the lowest we are able to purchase) and below. Unfortunately, we don’t purchase fancy coloured diamonds (yellow, brown champagne etc.)
← The clarity grading for the diamond.
← The fluorescence of the diamond
Our goal is never to surprise our customers by suggesting one price online and then offering a different price in person. That said, we do regrade all diamonds and consider a number of factors beyond these seven that can make the prices higher or lower than the estimate. Our goal is to always provide clear, straightforward information and the highest price for your diamonds. Book now a free quote.
At Canada Gold Buyers, we recommend an appointment with our GIA Gemologist for diamonds over a 1/4 carat in size. We buy diamond engagement rings, diamond bracelets, diamond earrings and other jewelry, as well as loose diamonds. We don’t currently buy raw (uncut), fracture filled, or man-made (lab created) diamonds.
If you’re wanting an idea of what your diamonds are worth, we also offer phone estimates. However, for a more accurate appraisal, we request you make an appointment ahead of time to see our GIA graduate diamond buyer: Martin Sheffield. If you have a certificate for your diamond, please bring it with you, if not, Martin will gladly assess any uncertified stones.
Martin is available in Richmond Hill by appointment only. Please call Mr. Sheffield at 1-800-252-1476 to set up an appointment.
The GIA is the Gemological Institute of America, a non-profit institute dedicated to protecting all buyers and sellers of gemstones by setting and maintaining the standards used to evaluate gemstone quality.
